The F3 STORY

Petite Isn't a Size. It's a proportion.

When you hear the word petite, you might think small. We get it — that’s what the word usually means. But in fashion, petite isn’t about being slim or wearing an XS. It’s about height and proportion. You can be petite at any size.

And if you’re petite, you probably know the routine: find something you love, try it on… and then start thinking about what needs altering. But there’s only so much an alteration can fix. Shortening the length doesn’t change where the waist, shoulders or other details are meant to sit.

That’s where F3 thinks differently.

We start with petite proportions in mind, focusing on thoughtful fit, balanced proportions and considered design — so petite fit is part of the thinking from the beginning, not an adjustment afterwards.

Fit. Quality. Thoughtful design. From the fabrics we choose to the details we create, every decision has a purpose: to give petite women fashion that feels good, fits better and still has its own F3 identity.

Behind the Brand

Gowthami Yedluri

I grew up in a small village in Andhra Pradesh, India, where most of my world was close to home. I never imagined that one day I would move to the UK, complete my Master’s, build a career here — and start creating a brand of my own.

Being petite has always been part of my story. Growing up, there were moments when I felt conscious of my height and even faced comments about being short. With time, I learned to become comfortable with who I am. But there was one everyday frustration that never really went away — clothes.

Buying ready-made clothes often meant another trip for alterations. I could shorten a trouser or a dress, but that didn’t change where the waist sat, how the shoulders fitted, or the proportions of the whole garment.

And I kept wondering: we have so many clothing sizes, so why is height so often overlooked?

For years, I also carried another dream — to build something of my own. I kept putting it aside while I focused on education, work and becoming financially independent.

In 2022, I moved to the UK. I completed my Master’s, started building my career, and eventually decided that I didn’t want that dream to remain just a thought.

So, alongside my full-time job, I started building Five Feet Fit.

I’m not a fashion graduate or a designer. I’m learning as I go — about fit, fabrics, manufacturing and everything that comes with building a fashion brand. What I do have is my own experience of this problem and a genuine desire to create clothes that fit petite women better.

F3 is still at the beginning of its journey, and so am I. I’m building it wholeheartedly, one step at a time. 🧡
